It's peak season at the market and our bags just don't seem big enough
for all that we want to bring home.
We're in full tomato season right now too.
We could eat tomato sandwiches everyday this time of year.
Clinton Vineyards will be honoring its founder this Sunday at the market from Noon - 1pm with a Toast to Ben Feder. Please join us for a delicious Kir made with Clinton Vineyards Seyval Blanc 2010 and their world famous Cassis, exclusive winner of gold medals in international competition.
Ben Feder, founder of Clinton Vineyards, was recognized as a pioneer in grape growing and winemaking in the Hudson Valley. He shared his knowledge, experience and enthusiasm with many who became part of the growing wine industry in New York State. Ben was the first to make Cassis in the Hudson Valley and the only winemaker to win gold medals for it in international competitions. His success in this arena encouraged others to emulate him. Ben was one of the earliest supporters of the Rhinebeck Farmers' Market. He died in 2009. His wife, Phyllis, continues his legacy and remains active in the market and on its board of directors.
