The Rhinebeck Farmers’ Market presents the John Honey Scholarship, named in honor of founding member on the Board of Directors, John Honey. The $1000 award is given to a graduating Rhinebeck High School senior who will be attending college to major in agriculture, food science, environmental studies or a related field.

Gabriella DiGiovanni
Gabriella will be attending the University of Colorado at Boulder in the Fall 2010 and will then transfer to the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University in the Fall of 2011. She intends to major in International Agriculture and Rural Development.
Gabriella is resident of Hudson, NY and currently the youngest volunteer at Hudsonia, a non-profit organization with goals to preserve and protect our dwindling natural land and species in the Hudson River Valley. She has also worked in the Wyoming wilderness restoring trails and replanting vegetation to reduce human impact. Gabriella is dedicating her studies to agriculture with the hopes of discovering ways to best cultivate the lands of developing countries and to developing new ideas for the benefit of the planet.
